I've lived in Southern California for almost all of my life and am, undoubtedly, a child of the Rainbow Brite/My Little Ponies/Carebear/He-Man/She-Ra era. Like many kids, my initial experience with art was with crayons and markers. Although I experimented with a little bit of calligraphy and doodling, I didn't seriously consider art a career until after I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Studio Art degree. Maybe it was due to the constant reminder that my dad wished me to be a doctor (no surprise there huh?) or it was just falling into that mindset that I needed to become a financially successful and the art route was a hard one for that goal. The route I've chosen now is definitely a difficult one, but I think all routes are hard in their own way. I do not regret my path in any way, for having seen what I can do with my own hands is, undeniably, rewarding.
